Welcome to the Greening Sacred Spaces network!

We invite you to register and join the growing number of faith communities who are moving towards sustainability. Joining is free and simply indicates that your faith community is taking steps toward greening. Everyone is welcome; we are here to support each other in our journey.

What is a Green Team?

A Green Team is a group of individuals within a place of worship that work together to coordinate greening efforts.  It can be a team of many or just a few to start. It may be a sub-committee of another group or it may stand alone within the faith community.  Green Teams can be made up of anyone interested in the greening process and may include members of other committees such as social action/community, building/property, worship, education, etc.  It is important to establish a Green Team Leader to help coordinate the team efforts and liaise with Greening Sacred Spaces staff.

Do I need to be part of a Green Team to join the Greening Sacred Spaces Network?

Although we encourage you to join or help create a Green Team within your faith community, you do not need to be the Green Team leader to register your community on our network! You will be asked for basic information on your faith community and this can be updated at any time. You are not committing to any actions on behalf of your faith community, simply sharing your stories and motivations with others. If you are uncertain whether or not your faith community currently has a Green Team, you might consider searching the Faith Community List to see if your community has already created an online profile with our network, or choose "list all" to see our full list of communities.

 
If your community is already listed, you can ask your Green Team leader to share access to our online tools; you can also sign up for our electronic newsletter to receive quarterly e-letters about our work.

How do I register my faith community with Greening Sacred Spaces?

Once you've established a Green Team or are in the beginning stages, fill out the form below to join the Greening Sacred Spaces network on-line and and register your place of worship.  Once registered, your community will be listed on our site, where you can track progress, link with other green teams, and access additional tools and resources. Your personal information will not be displayed and there are no financial obligations.   
 
If multiple people will be updating your faith community profile, please ensure to choose a username and password that can be shared. Fill out the form below to register and get started.
 
Youth members, please add "Youth" after your faith community name and tick the "Green Youth" box.
