Second Garden Tour a Success
A thank you to everyone who made the trek out to Tucker House for our second Food for Faith garden tour and discussion session. A big thank you as well to Damien, head gardener at Tucker House, for the interesting tour.
We were lucky enough to meet one of the Tucker family descendants who stopped by during our tour, and the discussion was lively, and at times touching.

Participants tour the organic CSA gardens at Tucker House on August 26th.
Food choices, faith & ecology are all closely linked subjects on which much information is available, and many points of view exist. Atendees of the two garden tour events are invited to use the materials provided to run discussion sessions in their own faith communites. The materials are available for free download in the interactive resource library (click here) and the video is available on the internet (here). If you would help running a discussion session in your own faith community, contact the Ottawa representative, Kathryn Guindon (see top of page).
Have a Green Ramadan
With its spiritually-driven fasting from sunrise to sunset, the religious month of Ramadan observed by Muslims around the world creates a deep connection between faith and the natural world. If observing Ramadan is part of your religious traditions, click here for a link to some ways to make this Ramadan a greener one.
Garden Tour a Success!!!
A big thank you to everyone who came out to Bethany Baptist Church on July 27th for the garden tour and discussion. There were about twice as many people there as expected, and the discussion went so well we didn't even need the discussion guide!
For those of you who asked, the video we watched was entitled "The Living Land" and it was narated by John Coyote. This video was produced by Baylands Productions, and is available at this link on the internet.
The book mentioned in the video was called "How to Grow More Vegetables*" (*than you ever thought possible on less land than you can imagine!), by John Jeavons of Ecology Action. Click here to link to their website.
If you missed the garden tour, or enjoyed it so much you want to do another one, join us at Tucker House on August 26th! (See below.)
